Colourful butterflies from Fimo modelling clay

1   Roll the Fimo modelling clay flat on baking paper in a size that fits the shape cutter.

2   Make a pattern in the Fimo modelling clay using a pattern roller.

3   Cut out butterflies with the shape cutter. Fix the butterflies for 30 min. in a household oven at 110°C. NB: if you want to hang the butterflies, make a hole for hanging with a wooden flower stick prior to fixing in the oven.

4   Once the butterflies have cooled down, decorate them with Plus Color craft paint so that the paint fills the pattern.

5   Wipe off the excess paint. When dry, varnish the butterflies with Fimo gloss varnish. The varnish provides a shiny, protective and transparent surface.

6   Attach Power Tack adhesive onto the back of the butterflies for sticking onto various surfaces. If you have made a hole for a wooden flower stick prior to fixing in the oven, you may attach a butterfly onto a stick and place it in a flower pot for decoration.
