A Vivi Gade Christmas Basket

Vivi Gade Design paper in the Stockholm series folded to make a lovely basket without a lid. The flaps are folded using a bone folder and a weaving paper strip is glued on as the handle. Decorated with decorative trim.

1 Fold from a square piece of paper. Fold diagonally twice.
2 Turn the paper over and fold across twice.
3 Gather the tips.
4 Fold towards the middle from both sides.
5 Open and push flat.

7 Repeat on the outer side.
Turn the paper and repeat steps 4-7.
8 Flip the upper right flap to the left …
9 … and the bottom left flap to the right (against the table).
10 Fold into the center from one side ...
11 … and from the other side.
12 Turn the paper over and repeat steps 10-11.
13 Fold the flap into the middle.
14 Fold it up as shown.
15 Do the same with the remaining three flaps.
16 Angle the sides as shown.
17 Put your fingers in the basket and gently push it into shape.
18 Nearly finished.
19 Form the flaps with a bone folder.
20 Attach E-Z runner/double-sided adhesive tape onto the back of the flaps and push them lightly towards the sides of the basket.
21 Decorate with decorative trim along the edge with power tape.
22 Use a weaving paper strip as a handle. Attach it with E-Z runner/double-sided adhesive tape.
Variation You can also use four die-cut paper strips from our Christmas bauble as a handle. Attach with brads.
