Puppets for puppet theatre made from bamboo kitchen utensils

1 Twist a pipe cleaner once around the spoon handle at the top. This will be the puppet's arms. Make sure that the twist is on the back of the spoon.

2 Wind yarn around the spoon handle and the pipe cleaner. Secure the yarn onto the back of the spoon handle with a blob of Sticky Base.

3 Cut a skirt from felt using the template attached as a separate PDF on this page. Assemble the skirt with glue and attach it onto the back of the spoon with small blobs of Sticky Base.

4 Model eyes, nose, mouth and hands from Silk Clay and attach onto the puppet. Silk Clay sticks without using glue.

5 Cut small pieces of yarn and attach them onto the back of the spoon with small blobs of Sticky Base. Continue until the puppet has your chosen amount of hair.

6 Decorate the puppet with buttons sequin ribbon etc. attached with Sticky Base. You may decorate further with self-adhesive foam rubber figures.

7 Make hair for the puppets by wrapping yarn around a small piece of card. Tie a piece of yarn around the middle of the wrapped yarn and cut open both ends. Use self-adhesive googly eyes for the eyes.
