Crackling is a technique for obtaining the look of an antique piece of art, where the varnish has crackled over time. This is achieved by the lacquer and the paint working against each other; here with Effekt Crackle in two steps for fine crackling.

Cómo hacerlo

1.   The colour of the cracks: Paint the item with either dark or light acrylic paint; Plus Color craft paint. (Always in contrast to your chosen colour on the outer layer/surface, so the effect will stand out). Leave to dry.

2.   Apply a coat of Effekt Crackle, step 1. Leave to dry.

3.   The colour of the surface: Paint the item with acrylic paint in your chosen colour. Leave to dry.

4.   Step 2: Apply a thick, even coat of Effekt Crackle. NB: The crackling will begin immediately. Therefore, avoid brushing more than once in the same area. Leave to dry.
